Harris Wittels

Harris Wittels (born April 20, 1984) is a comedian, writer and musician. He is best known as a writer for The Sarah Silverman Program, Parks and Recreation and as a recurring guest on Comedy Bang Bang.

Life and career

Wittels is from Houston, Texas. He graduated from Emerson College in 2006 with a degree in TV/Video Production.[1]

After performing stand-up comedy in Los Angeles, Wittels met Sarah Silverman and became a writer on The Sarah Silverman Program. When the show ended, Wittels became a staff writer for Parks and Recreation and became executive story editor during the second season. His writing credits include the episodes "Media Blitz" and "94 Meetings". He has also appeared on the show as Harris, a dim-witted animal control employee. Wittels has also written for the programs Secret Girlfriend and Eastbound and Down.

Wittels is a frequent guest on the Earwolf podcast Comedy Bang Bang and is known for the recurring segment "Harris' Foam Corner", during which he reads jokes and observations saved on his phone. Also on the Earwolf network, Wittels hosts the Analyze Phish podcast, where he attempts to convince friend and Comedy Bang Bang host Scott Aukerman to enjoy the band Phish.

Wittels is a member of the band Don't Stop or We'll Die along with comedians Paul Rust and Michael Cassady. He is the band's drummer and provides backing vocals.

He is also the creator of the Twitter feed Humblebrag. [2] He writes for Grantland on the subject of notable humblebrags.[3]
